Our first attempt at installing a roof ventilation system worked great but was very expensive and labor intensive. As you can see this prototype started with a bubble foil bubble insulator and then a cumbersome wooden counter batten system Even though it really cooled the interior of this historic renovation on this converted barn it was labor intensive and expensive.

We have been in business for over 27 years and have been specializing in metal roofs exclusively for 14 years.  I have been working for alpha rain since I have 5.  The company has been in business for 27 years which means that out of those 27 years I have worked for the company for 25 of the years and that makes me feel pretty old. There are 3 ways to transmit heat:

• Direct heat transfer-think of a tea kettle on an open flame
• Convective heat transfer- think of a turkey in an oven where the hot air cooks the turkey
• Radiant heat transfer- think of popcorn in a microwave

Our new Radiant Therma Vent roof ventilation system addresses all three. The Radiant Therma Vent panel acts as a thermal bridge to stop the direct heat transfer. The air ventilation we introduce into the radiant Thema Vent system stops the convective heat transfer by ventilating the hot air out of the ridge and pulling in the cool air from the eave area. This system even vents the hot air from the attic. The use of a Radiant barrier stops the radiant heat transfer.
