Phone 540-222-1642 we are Alpha Rain The Metal Roofing Company.  This is what happens when you store a Painted metal roof Coil for a long time.  In this video I show what happens to the paint if you keep it in a coil for a long time, the paint will flake off.  We have had this metal for many years in a coil and the paint is starting to flake.  The manufacturer will only warranty the metal for only 6 months in a coil.  This means that if your contractor was installing this on your house in Great Falls Virginia using leftover metal coil from another job that is older than six months, then your warranty on your new metal roof will be void.  That is why we order every job with the metal that is needed for that job only.

We offer the highest quality by making sure that small items like storing metal coil to long do not turn into a huge problem for you say 3 or 4 years down the road.  A lot of contractors do not even know that the warranty will be void if they store the metal roof coil.  This would be too bad if your paint started failing.

Removing an old Metal Tin Roof Clifton VA

In Clifton Virginia, there are quite a few old metal tin roofs that would be taken off in the same way.  Normally the old tin roofs are so thin that they can be taken off and cut next to the seam on a standing seam metal roof with just a sharp shovel.  Take a look at the roof deck it is not plywood.  The house in the video was built in the early 1900s and it was normal for that time period to use what is called skip sheathing, or what we call local to Virginia Purlins.  This old wood for Metal Tin Roof Clifton VA is normally a real 5/4 inch board that is 6 or 8 inches wide.  When we have to replace any wood due to rot we have to go to certain mills that still make the rough cut board of those dimensions.  There are only a few mills left that we can even get that type of wood from, and most of the time we replace with hard oak.

Here is a close up of the Under Metal Roof Ventilation Culpeper VA that we are installing on a standing seam metal roof in Culpeper.  The metal is by Sheffield metals and has a 35-year warranty on it.  We are installing a matte finish with an energy star prepainted metal.  This is made out of 26 Gauge Galvalume metal.   We will show the close up on the job site of the ventilation system, how the roof vents and how easy this installation is to install.

We are the creators of this under-roof ventilation system and have had very good results with how this system works with hot air in your attic coming into the second floor.  I have a house I just bought which has two floors one on top of the other and the second floor always gets hot in the summer, a lot hotter than the first floor especially in the afternoon.  This system fixes that problem and I will be installing this under-roof ventilation soon in my new house.  We have installed a different variation of this system and can tell you that if you have asphalt shingle your attic will be around 150 to 170 once the outside temperature gets into the 90s.  By installing this system we will take that temperature and change them to the same air temperature at the base of your attic as the outside air temperature and at the peak of your attic where the air will be escaping through our vented ridge vent, it will be 103 degrees.  The reason I can tell you with accuracy is that we test everything.  If you are interested in knowing more about this system please contact us at the bottom contact info.

Snow Falling Metal roofing Warrenton VA

Phone 540-222-1642 we are Alpha Rain The Metal Roofing Company.  This is what happens when you don’t have snowbirds, falling snow.  Sometimes all the snow will fall off all at once, we are going to record and see if all the snow on this metal roof falls off.  The Sun is starting to melt the snow and a lot of the snow has already fallen off all at once.

When you have a standing seam metal roof installed it is always best to have the machine that makes the panels make them right on the job site.  This is a prepainted metal roof and if the metal roofing panels were made offsite and then transported to the job site you will incur quite a few scratches on the paint.  We know because 15 years ago before we had machines to make the panels onsite we would do just that, and every time we would always get some scratches in the paint.
